Our Story

Dimplex was founded in 2005 in Dublin, Ireland, by a group of mechanical engineers who saw an opportunity to bridge the gap between heat pump technology and the commercial building sector. At the time, heat pumps were well understood in residential applications but underutilized in larger commercial and industrial settings.

Our founding insight was simple: facility managers and consulting engineers needed a partner who could translate heat pump performance data into clear business cases. Not just specifications, but actual energy savings calculations, payback timelines, and transition plans that accounted for existing infrastructure.

Today, Dimplex operates three production facilities and 20 service centers across 48 countries, with a team of 520 professionals including 62 dedicated R&D engineers. We have delivered over 5,800 commercial heat pump systems for applications ranging from single office buildings to multi-megawatt district heating networks.
